2022 Dia De Los Muertos 1st Announcement

TODAY! Join us in celebrating the Day of the Dead in partnership with the Institute of Latino Studies and Adelante-ERG. The celebration will take place on Tuesday, November 1st, 11:00am - 12:00pm, at 315 Bond Hall.

Dia de los Muertos is a day of celebration for people in Latin America, particularly in Mexico and Central America, as well as our current community of Mexican-Americans. They choose to commemorate the lives of the dearly departed and welcome the return of their spirits through food, drink and celebration.

Joining ILS and Adelante, NDSID will have an altar dedication. Ofrendas (altars) honor the departed and they will be created by Notre Dame students, faculty, staff, and members of NDSID, Adelante and ILS.

Agenda for the day:

> 11am Assistant Prof. Jenny Padilla speaking on the celebration

> 11:15-11:45am Social time with refreshments and viewing of the altars

> 11:45am Artist Cybil will walk guests through her exhibit in the ILS hallway and speak about her work
